This was great for perfecting my form (stance, gait, holding my weapon, aiming, and shot placement) while moving and engaging multiple threats at different locations. I learned so much more than I expected despite being a veteran soldier and deputy sheriff. Herfel is a great instructor who expertly explains the “why” behind every instruction. There is NO level of BS here and is mostly live fire individually and in teams.

This is a MUST DO training course for anyone interested in effective self defense using a pistol, or those just interested in improving their pistol craft skills. Herfel and Carlos are awesome instructors! Kudos to Range Safety Officer Jack too.

Excellent course. Great blend between theory, psychology, and running drills. Definitely recommend this to anyone whose looking to learn more about pistol defense.

Herfel Torres is very attentive to everything you are doing as he is training you and provides correction as needed. Therefore, your skills as a shooter improve continuously. Herfel is not showing off. He really knows what he’s doing. A person who really wants to learn how to shoot, should train with him.

What a fun day! Gorka is a wonderful instructor with all the experience and shootings skills needed to help shooters become better competitors. And a great way to end the day with the disappearing target array. Really cool!

This was a wonderful class. Gorka did a great job, helped all of us to improve our moving target and one handed shooting. But the best part was at the end of the day, the steel targets that popped up randomly from the hidden base. So much fun

I have taken several classes with Herfel and he always impresses me with his superb teaching style. If you want to understand the physiology involved in shooting, as well as the finer points of accurate, self-defense skills, this the class to take. Herfel is in a class by himself.

Starting out with with basic drills and emphasizing trigger control was very beneficial The way the class was structured aloud the drills to build on one another. Although a long a long day it was most enjoyable and instructive.

This is an amazing class. Gorka is great about explaining why he is teaching things the way he does and sees the smallest mistakes that are being made to assist with correction. He uses a skill builder approach that works its way from trigger press to transition to movement. He is also good about knowing his students and how quickly to progress or slow down. I’m looking forward to taking more classes.

Handgun Competition 102 was an excellent class for experienced shooters to brush up their skills or for the more novice shooters to improve and hone their skills. Gorka is a great shooter and very good instructor and this class is well worth the price and time. I’ve taken classes with 3 other professional shooters and Gorka tops the list.

Excellent experience and was able to take a way many great lessons regarding low light pistol handling.

Excellent instruction. All the instructors were very knowledgeable and did a great job of teaching the principles of defensive pistol shooting.

The instructor is very careful at explaining how to handle a AR-15 carbine. Mr. Herfel is very knowledgeable and really expresses his interest for his students to learn and grow there knowledge.

First rate instruction! Classroom teaching covered a lot of ground followed by practical application on the range. Would definitely sign up for further rifle classes hopefully multi-day.

Herfel Torres and Team Valortec are incredibly good at their craft and they always inspire me and others to excel.

Excellent Drills course focused on core fundamentals. Course started with review of fundamentals then moved to dryfire focusing on grip, alignment and body mechanics. Quickly moved to live fire with emphasis on speed and accuracy. Herfel (lead instructor) assess each participants ability and challenges them to shoot outside their comfort zone while providing constructive feedback to correct/tweak their technique. Measurable progress was seen in each student’s abilities by the end of the day. Overall great class with great instructors. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to test their limits and brush up on core fundamentals.

Excellent class. The drills in this course are set up to build on your existing techniques (as well as new ones) and to make you aware of your weak spots and not just aware, but, the instructors make sure you develop the knowledge and techniques to improve on these. Herfel is one of the best instructors I have had in my close to 30 years of training.
