As a Town Council we only run a few events during the year but we always do a Risk Assessment for each one and we are mindful of all H&S requirements. With regard to the new law I have developed a Martyn’s Law Check sheet which will be completed and filed with all the other relevant documentation for each event.

This webinar was slightly different to the norm, with less slides & more chat. But that was good as the talk around the slides helped to get the message across. Some real very real examples where given that hit home just how important it is to be aware (of your surroundings) and to use common sense. Looking forward to receiving the recording with links for further information - hopefully another webinar soon to answer the fire service’s stance from the university question.

It may be useful to have events specific webinars, such as small scale sporting events such as triathlons and how the law may apply to us or how we need to consider safety measures that should be considered.
